Kirkwood City Hall

According to Officer Tracy Panus of the St. Louis County Police Department, Charles Lee "Cookie" Thornton entered the back door of Kirkwood (Mo.) City Hall (above) and began shooting. In addition to severely wounding the city's mayor, he killed two city council members, a city official and a second police officer before being shot dead by other KPD officers.
